The names listed below were copied from the index of the "Confederate Pensions 1892-1895" book located in the Chancery Clerk's vault in the Winston County Courthouse in Louisville, Mississippi. Index copied by Mary K. Johnson, Look4Whittens@yahoo.com, and Rachael White in 2002-2003.

The instructions at the top of each application gave this information: "No person who has heretofore received a Pension from the State can now do so without making a new Application under this form. This Application must be filed with the Chancery Clerk on or before the first Monday of September."
Form No. 1 was the "Application for indigent Soldier or Sailor of the late Confederacy, under Chapter 101, Annotated Code, 1892, and 'An Act for the relief of certain officers, soldiers, sailors, widows, and servants of the late war between the States,' approved February 19, 1892." The following questions were asked to pension applicants on Form No. 1:
Form No. 2 was the "Application for indigent Widow of deceased Soldier or Sailor of the Confederacy,under Chapter 101, Annotated Code 1892, and 'An Act for the relief of certainofficers, soldiers, sailors, widows, and servants of the late war betweenthe States,' approved July 19, 1892." The following questions were asked to pension applicants on Form No. 2:
