The majority of the pictures in this album were shared with me in 1984 by my great-aunt Viola Whitten Steed. At that time, Aunt Viola and her brother, Uncle Foster Whitten, were the only two surviving children of Willie Jefferson Whitten and Frances Cummings Whitten. Aunt Viola was kind enough to allow me to have these pictures professionally reprinted for future generations to share.
